Williamson Medical Center is offering the community a free opportunity Thursday evening, July 10, to speak with a board-certified general surgeon about common surgeries including hernias, gall bladder, diverticulitis and appendicitis.
Dustin Smith, M.D., with Williamson Medical Group, will host the free, informal seminar on Williamson Medical Center's campus at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10.
"With everyone's busy schedules these days, it's harder and harder to get face time with someone in the medical community who can answer questions you may have about common surgeries," Smith said. "This seminar will be a great opportunity for people to come hear about gall bladder surgery or hernias and ask me any questions they may have."
The event is part of Williamson Medical Center's Healthy U Education Series that is geared toward helping members of the community maintain the healthiest lifestyle possible.
Smith will give a brief summary of the causes of some of the most common surgeries, including appendicitis, hernias, and diverticulitis, as well as discuss warning signs, prevention methods and recovery times.
The seminar is open to the public, but seating is limited. Register by calling 615-435-6780 or sending an email to [email protected]. Light refreshments will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the program running from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the meeting rooms adjacent to the main lobby at WMC.
