If you're traveling to Africa, Asia, or the Caribbean this summer, bring your mosquito repellent with DEET and lather up. Several cases of Chikungunya, a painful virus spread by mosquitoes, have been reported from these regions in recent weeks. There have not been any cases of the virus reported in the U.S.

In an ABC News report, William Schaffner, M.D., infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, describes symptoms of the unpleasant-but-not-deadly virus and what you can do to help prevent infection.
